What a busy but fulfilling week!

This 2 weeks was a busy but fulfilling week until I even forgot about AYU's Birthday....
Haiz... Her birthday was on the 2nd OCT and I only realised it just now.

I bought a new formal shirt for my presentations because my mum says why I always wear the same old shirt for presentation which makes me looks too poor to buy new shirt haha...

So Monday I went to buy the shirt tada! Here it is...

I went to Istean scotts to buy both the shirt and a present(bag charm) for my friend from Agnes b. Then went to Takashimaya to buy her birthday card. haha the card has some Jap phrases which I think is meaningful. As rarely ppl in singapore receive japanese bithday card.

Wednesday was when I suddenly planned to celebrate her birthday although it was on 11th Oct. Cos I was thinking that I wont be able to meet her during weekend as she may not acccept a meetup. So I decided to surprise her after her class on wednesday. As I had time before her class end I went to Jurong Point to buy a self designed cake. This is my first time design a cake using my own hands! I was like errr how to use the coloured "ink" (dunno the right word to use) to decorate... I tested on the tray the shop provided and find that releasing the ink near to the surface of the cake will not make the words wriggle. so using that knowledge I gained I designed the whole cake.

So I started with the words "HAPPY BDAY" in chocolate ink. Then her name in blue ink as she resembles the sky. some stars in pink and yellow. She didnt like flowers so I didn draw flowers. Then a pink heart shape to resemble the care for her.

Then I put in the fruits which was quite a tough job as I must not drop the fruits on the words and decorations. Finally I found the side of the cake very dull and added a bottom wave of chocolate to represent the friendship warmth that will embrace her. And the chinese 4 bithday words as she is very chinese inclined haha...

She came out of the class and I quickly lighted up the candles. As the cake is very small, I placed 2 big candles(twenty) and 1 small candle(five). Then she saw me and I waved to her. She looked surprised why I was standing there. I signalled her to come nearer and she find it strange with a frowning look. I was standing in front of the cake to hide it from her. Then when she is near, I sidestepped and revbealed the cake to her and started singing brithday song. Right after the song she blew the candles without me signalling her to do that. I was like wow haha...

Next I passed her a small box. At first her eyes were those normal eyes happy to receive gifts then her eyes opened up really big when she sees her favourite brand ~ Agnes b.~ She opened the present and saw the bag charm and was quite happy. I know she was expecting something else but I didnt buy that.

Then I passed her the birthday card and a small card attached with the present. Hope she had a great surprise celebration.

Reuion with old JC friends

Sat night went out with my JC close friends... 3 guys 1 gal

We went to karaoke. what was interesting is that I didnt know my high notes improved from last time we went there which was like 1 year ago haha...

So I started singing male songs like 男人不该让女人留泪, 张学友 and 刘德华. but was disappointed with my pitching. not sure wat was wrong... maybe I listen to too much female songs.

After that my female friend start to sing Ah mei, liang jing ru and FIR songs but she cant reach some high notes. As I practice sometimes at home, I decided to try and help hehe...

To my surprise, I realised that I can sing them easily. And my pitch and tone sounded not like me at all haha... My friends looked at me like I came from another planet... I was so elated for this sudden change that I sang all the female parts for the songs my friends chose.

I guess there is something to do with the new way I hold the mic that I picked up at home. I follow how professional singers hold their mic which is to hold the mic perpendicular to your face instead of the usual slightly pointing downwards. and also the lips close to the mic almost touching it. this way you dont need to sing loudly and also sound better. :) hope this can help you sing better in your next karaoke session...

Now time to practice more...

Drive for Life ~ 1st blog of my life ~

Wow... after requested to do a blog by my good friend, I finally started this new hobby. haha... hmm wat should I start with...

Well start with the driving force of my life, I love listening and watching Ayumi perform on stage cos she really capture my emotions. She laughs, have fun, cries, frowns and brings these feelings deep in me.

People kept asking me why I love Ayu... I guessed is cos she gives me the drive to live and endure thru all hardships. She is my lucky star too. After I started to go on an Ayu craze, my uni grades starts to improve. My grade is in the warning zone for 1 sem until she arrived in my life.

Luckily now my grades are manageable and I wish to graduate next year. And then I can finally fly to Japan to watch Ayu concerts live!

Ayu was born with a bad left ear. She always had intermittent left ear deafness. When I imagined myself with that, I will feel so frustrated that I want to end my life. Now she is totally deaf in the left making her profession as a singer even harder. This insight of her life push me to live forward even if there are hardships that make me wan to end my life...

Another attraction for her is because she tries to perform in every concerts even of the situation is extremely hard for her to do so. Several times she fractured her leg or arms just the day before the real concert, she continued with the performances. She endured the pain to bring happiness to the audiences which is a remarkable feat that I couldn't have done so even when I am a man.

Thus I am usually attracted to people who can endure tough hardships...

On to the next post...
Ja mata!
